Q: What are the prices for having a model built?
A: The prices vary depending on the model. I have some available for as little as $50 and up to $2000. The main expense of making new models is the cost of the bricks. I pay around $30 a pound for basic Lego bricks. Certain special Lego elements can cost up to $1.00 a piece. I charge for the cost of the bricks, my design time, and the time it takes to glue the model. I also charge for any additional costs such as bases, internal steel, packing and shipping costs, etc.
But having said all that, I consider my prices to be very reasonable considering you are buying a piece of custom artwork, and I can give a quote to anybody who asks. Just let me know what you are interested in having built, approximately what size you would like it, and when you would need it. I can give you an estimate that is usually very close to the final price of the finished model.
I require a 50% deposit to order the bricks needed. Once the prototype model is built, I will send you a picture for your approval. Once you give the go ahead I will do the glued version. When final payment is received, I will ship or deliver the finished model to you.
